The Veil Of Tears - Copyright (C) 5/14/09 by Dan Sharpe.

Age scarred hands caressed
the wedding veil cast aside,
on that fateful August
morn by his fleeing bride.

"I know not where she is today,
but God of mercy, this I pray,
keep her heart within your own,
don't let her ever be alone.

Though there, with her,
I can not be,
please Lord, be with her,
for me."

He gently lay the veil of tears,
within its shrine, of many years,
to take it out again someday,
and commerate his love's birthday.
