September's Child - Copyright (C) 6/30/08 by Dan Sharpe.

You were chasing rainbows,
running scared and fast,
panicked by the cruel blows,
of a past love that didn't last.

So I painted rainbows,
with poems, and songs, for you,
but each time that your gaze rose,
you panicked and withdrew.

I hope you found your rainbows,
and sunny skies of blue,
cause, as every loving heart knows,
I wish the best for you.
