Life's Shelf - Copyright (c) 5/20/08 by Dan Sharpe.

She stands alone on the shore,
watching the harvest moon slip below the lake's black surface.

It's been a month or more,

She remembers his words that tore,
and bereft her of her sense of self.

Now her tired heart is sore,
and left upon life's shelf.
