Epic Tragedy - Copyright (C) 7/22/08 by Dan Sharpe

I woke up, and you were there,
just like the answer to my prayer.
I reached out to take your hand,
you ran through my fingers like the sand.

And over time you slipped away,
only to come back another day,
then you vanished in the haze,
of my broken hearted days.

And returned yet again,
till your broken heart could mend,
when you banished me for good,
then, at last, I understood.

You were like the wind to me,
and I was like the faithful sea,
as far apart as two could be,
what an epic tragedy.
