Autumn On The Green - Copyright (C) 11/30/08 by Dan Sharpe.

Its Autumn on the green,
and the falling leaves,
all try to make the scene,
as the weeping willow grieves.

Summer's blue skies have turned gray,
southing birds all ride a windy chill,
calling "Old man Winter's on his way",
and I pause and think of you, still.

In the midst of Winter's hold,
in a world snow painted new,
I'll see past the ice and cold,
to heart warmed, memories of you.

And with the dawning of the Spring,
as soft sweet fragrances fill the air,
in the warmth, and joy, life brings,
I will wish you still were there.
